History
In 1976, the beginnings of Maranatha Good News Centre took root with six hearts in a small living room in Niverville, Manitoba. The Spirit of God moved on hearts and passionate vision was released. By 1983, this small gathering had grown to over a 150 people. In response to the growth, people of the church bought a car service centre, renovating it and creating a building with capacity for over 350 people. Over the years Maranatha’s cry has been to see a demonstration of authentic Kingdom expression from its fellowship. Projects such as Mexico Outreach Ministries were created to release people into foreign missions. As well, the Unity Ministry Float was also created as a mission to help broadcast God’s love in parades across Canada. These missions along with many other projects and thematic thrusts have been rallying points to see God’s people move beyond religious duty to meaningful relationship with the presence of God.
Today, the church sees up to 300 people attending every Sunday. Along with over a dozen life groups, an exciting Junior and Senior Youth program, an exciting Children’s ministry and many other ministries meeting and flowing throughout the week, Maranatha’s cry remains the same—we want more of God’s Kingdom in our lives and in our church gatherings.
